Let me perceive forgiveness as it is. [W-p1.134.5.1]
I have to admit I, at times, get overwhelmed by all of ACIM’s (aka A Course in Miracle’s) forgiveness talk. Yeah, Yeah, I GET it ACIM. I have a lot to forgive! Stop nagging already ; )
But I similarly admit that I never truly understood what it meant by forgiveness. I mean, I thought I knew. But my perception maaaay have been a little off.
Let me explain. As synchronicity would have it, I heard the most perfect definition. Forgiveness means-To let go. To release attachment to what we think is true. In lieu of what truly lives within the present moment.
Huh. I might not have that down quite as much as I thought….
When I think about forgiveness in the context of letting go, it reminds me that I am re-creating from a place that I already believe is. Replaying the same old tapes. So-and-so is attacking me or Mr. Grumpy-pants isn’t talking to me the way I think they should (and don’t get me started on shoulding on yourself).
Lesson 134 says all of these misperceptions are straight-up folly. That, if you are like me, our definitions of forgiveness can make it seem like we are granting something. But it actually never existed in the first place. If our Truth is limitlessness, what is there to forgive? If we are all one-Would we condemn ourselves for doing this?
Letting go….well, that is where the juicy stuff comes in. To re-see in truth. To know that someone or something is Source beyond their actions in the moment.
Lesson 134 asks us to be the quiet blessing of forgiveness today. To choose to see past the idea of corruption and blame. To witness the Soul of the Divine living within each and every encounter you engage in. We are more. That situation is more.
The skinny? Choose to let go and release. Awaken to the truth of who we ALL are. One Love. Forgiven. Released
