Conjunction Junction, what's your function?-ACIM Lesson #64

Let me not forget my function

Yesterday I was blessed to have friends in my home. They are lovely, grateful, and extremely helpful people.

But when I found out they were coming, the first thing I began doing was creating my trusty to-do lists. Cleaning the house and trying to ensure that their every convenience was met before they even asked.

I fretted about getting everything done. I hid all the junk in my bedroom…I even micromanaged the dust where the floor meets the wall for a bit.

When they arrived we played games, laughed, and had the best time.

So what happened to all those hours I spent cleaning and fretting? Although they may have appreciated the stunning floorboards I revealed-they were much more interested in spending time with me. They didn’t comment on my mad dusting skills. But they did laugh kindly at my jokes and comment about how much fun they had.

The world we see, when it is not in love, is simply illusion dear friends. And while I am not knocking a clean space, all of our to-do lists are often just a license to forget who we really are beneath the busy.

Lesson 64 reminds me that it is SO easy to accept the physical appearances of life as real. As our true purpose. To forget that Love and compassion will always trump ego.

The rest is just a tempting mirage, fading into the sands of a life less extraordinary than the one we were born to live. Forgive these thoughts Lesson 64 says, these illusions. See them as what they are. A bridge to the paradise of our function lying just beyond our worldly perceptions. Being light and love to all we see. Not by doing. But by being. The Divine in expression in the knowing of your worth.

Just. As. You. Are-Happiness and Joy.

And you can get there by asking one simple question:

Does this thought track with Joy or Fear?

Forgive any thoughts of fear. Shine your light. Let the world know the Divine legacy of love that shines within them, reflected in your eyes.

Namaste Light Chasers. Shine on!
