The Gift We were Born to Live-ACIM Lesson #103

I seek but what belongs to me in truth.

It is getting time for my partner’s birthday. I love a good birthday. Picking out the perfect gift. Finding something that will surprise and delight. Seeing the happiness on someone’s face when they receive.

But speaking of receiving…this is the part I am less good at.

As often as I love to give a gift. When I receive one, I just feel awkward. Like I’m in the hot seat. And everyone is waiting for my reaction….

Lesson 104 reminds me that Source is a happy gifter. That while I have replaced Source’s eternal gifts of love and peace in my mind with things like anxiety, fear, or awkwardness-these are just my monkey-mind’s hesitation to receive the gift that is already mine to live. That when I can open myself to this reception, I can find an unlimited supply of the gifts of serenity and connection that are all I truly care to receive.

Source is like that person that has found us the perfect gift we didn’t even know we were missing. And when we can open. When we can receive. Well, we open ourselves to the life of unlimited possibilities and joy we belong living in truth.
